You can’t believe in the power of meaningless spamming until you see it at work.

I’ve one “friend” on Facebook greedy for success in politics. Someone suggested him to flood Facebook with daily posts. And so he does with useless sharing of football news or quotes. Popular, very popular content. Nothing original. Just sharing this or that, on the trend.

Plus, every day — every single day — he wishes his Facebook friends good morning, good afternoon, and good evening, with the same few silly words, repeated ad infinitum.

The only reasonable outcome that you can imagine of that “media strategy” is that nobody gives a shit.

Well, not only he has thousands of followers, but what surprises me most is that every single day dozens of people give an up to his “good morning” and even happily comment wishing a good morning/afternoon/evening back.

Every day, this magic leaves me without words. And shakes all my beliefs about “value.”
